Just as e-commerce giant Amazon has succeeded in making it very safe and easy for consumers to shop on-line, Poseidon wishes to make ocean-freight a safe and easy option for the long-haul transportation of pharmaceuticals.

Consolidation

The Poseidon model is premised around the secure sharing of demand data/forecasts amongst the program participants in order to streamline inventory and production right across the supply chain. The secure sharing of data with other Poseidon network partners will lead to production planning, inventory optimisation, resource availability and quality improvements across the supply chain, resulting in lower costs and shorter lead times.

Poseidon provides a controlled yet independent environment which removes the ‘master-servant’ (authoritarian & adversarial) types of commercial relationships that characterise other supply chain networks.
